NAVAS provides an excellent opportunity to get involved in the Anesthesia & Analgesia community! NAVAS is looking for individuals for the following positions:
President-Elect:
The President-Elect shall succeed to the office of the President upon the expiration of the then-current President’s term (or upon the then-current President’s earlier death, removal or resignation). The President shall succeed to the office of the Past-President upon the expiration of the President’s current term.
Treasurer:
Carry out the financial activities of NAVAS and provide monthly and annual financial reports to the NAVAS BOD. Additional position duties are being defined.
At-Large Director:
Each “At-Large Director” shall be elected by the active membership from among nominated active members to serve overlapping 3-year terms. Represent the general membership on the NAVAS BOD.
Responsibilities of the Officers shall be delegated by the Board of Directors (BOD), and unless the BOD decides otherwise, each Officer shall have the authority and duties that are customarily associated with his or her respective office. The term of office of each Officer shall be for two years, beginning January first of the year following the Officer’s election.

Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the annual meeting tentatively scheduled for September 23, 2023.
Unanimous approval of candidates by the Nominating Committee is required before being recommended to the NAVAS BOD for placement on the ballot. Any nominations from the membership (from the floor at the annual business meeting) shall similarly be reviewed and unanimously approved by the Nominating Committee before recommendation to the NAVAS BOD for placement on the ballot.
Approval of the ballot requires approval of 2/3rds of the voting members of the NAVAS BOD.
Voting will occur in November 2023.
